Job Purpose
The maintenance mechanical technician is expected to assist to commission & start up specified C2 plant(s). After startup, following the maintenance scope arrangement of area, execute equipment repair/maintenance tasks with fully compliance to the company HSE rules. Conduct PM activities according to the PM plan in time. Register the maintenance record in SAP system. Assist maintenance mechanical engineer to propose material and spare parts requisition as required
Principal Accountabilities
A. General
1. Observe all safety, health and environmental standards in the plants and ensure all work practices are carried in accordance to the specified requirements.
2. Have working knowledge on the procedures in the Permit-To-Work system.
3. Have a working knowledge on the use of Computerised Maintenance Management System.
B. Rotating Equipment
1. Assemble and De-assemble of centrifugal and reciprocating compressor; centrifugal and reciprocating pumps; blowers, fans, mixers, steam turbine in accordance to given diagram.
2. Installation and alignment of mechanical parts such as mechanical seals, bearings, couplings, gears, transmission belts with motor, turbines and hydraulic systems.
3. Skilled in the use of measuring tools such as dial gauge, micrometer, vernier callipers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, etc.
4. Carry out alignment of centrifugal pumps and compressors using reverse dial method or laser equipment.
5. Perform routine maintenance of rotating equipment such as vibration checks, oil change, greasing, performance checks.
C. Static Equipment
1. Have working knowledge on the maintenance of heat exchangers, furnaces, vessels, tanks, columns, boilers, reactors.
2. Skilled in positive isolation of process equipment via spadework at immediate outlet /inlet of heat exchanger, columns, vessels, furnaces, and tanks.
D. Piping
1. Skilled in maintenance of piping systems and components such
as valves, steam traps, filters, relief valves, vacuum valves,
hoses, etc.
2. Have working knowledge on crane operation, rigging and
slinging, wire ropes and use of lifting gears.
3. Have working knowledge on the selection of materials for
piping systems and components.
E. Civil
1. Have working knowledge on scaffold, insulation, surface
preparation and painting.
2. Able to supervise the activities of the work carried out by
contractors on scaffold erection, insulation installation and
repair, surface preparation and painting.
Qualifications &
Experience
1. Educational background:
 A qualification from technical school or equivalent.
2. Work experience:
 Minimum 3 years oil or petrochemical maintenance
experience.
 Previous working experience in a JV environment would be
an advantage.
3. Language proficiency:
 Able to communicate English at working level.
4. PC skills:
 Proficient in PC skills.
