POSITION SUMMARY
Nature and Scope
• Pressure System Engineer (along with the rest of the Pressure Systems / Mechanical Integrity group and Function Engineer), will provide on-going pressure systems and mechanical integrity support
• Responsibilities include operating plant equipment inspection, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, mechanical integrity program development, design engineering review, materials ion and fabrication and installation inspection of pressurized systems
• Base at AP gasification plant, Togtoh, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China; Travel in China and Asia as required

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Troubleshoot Pressure System issues in the Operating plants
• Inspect Pressure System Equipment (including Gasifiers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Heat Exchangers, Fired Heaters, Storage Tanks, Piping, Pipelines and Relief Devices) during plant outages / normal operation, evaluate results and recommend correction action / repairs
• Develop repair procedures and inspection plan and provide technical guidance to plant operation / maintenance regarding inspection types and methods. Support repair and inspect for quality
• Lead Pressure System equipment / piping repair
• Develop Pressure System Maintenance / Reliability Plan and Mechanical Integrity Program considering various damage mechanisms
• Technical review of Equipment modifications using Management of Change process
• Design engineering of Pressure Systems including development of technical specification, review of mechanical strength calculation and fabrication drawing
• Develop inspection / test plans for fabrication of Pressure System equipment / Pipelines. Inspect during fabrication / installation
• Train Plant / Maintenance personnel on pressure system maintenance / inspection
• Maintain expertise in existing and developing technologies associated with the inspection of pressurized systems (ex: Shear wave, Eddy Current, Profile Radiography)
• Input for development and maintenance of Pressure System standards, procedures, best practices, inspection contracts and contractor ion
• Participate at professional association meetings to determine best practices being used in the industry and apply them to our pressure systems
• Assume a role in incident investigations and Cause Investigations of incidents
• Any other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Mechanical Engineering graduate (B. Engg, B.Tech, B.S.,) with 6 years of relevant experience in gasification / chemical / refinery / gas plant maintenance / inspection / engineering
• Working knowledge of the GB and ASME / ANSI codes for design and inspection
• In depth knowledge and experience in inspection & testing techniques for gasifiers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters, storage tanks, piping and relief devices
• Knowledge and understanding of local statutory / regulatory inspection requirements • Proficiency in English speaking and writing
• Good interpersonal and coordinating skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organization
• Desirable to have GB / ASME / API Pressure Vessel / Piping inspection qualification
• Desirable to have Materials Engineering knowledge
• Coal Gasification and Purification plant working experience will be a plus
ORGANIZATION CHART
• This position will report directly to the Asia Pressure System / MI Manger.
• The incumbent will work closely with Plant Operations Technical Solution, Operations, Maintenance and Project team, sub-regional / regional Pressure System / MI / Materials Engineering team and Operational Excellence team.
• In addition, interfaces with the following to achieve objectives:
o Plant / Line Management
o EH&S Auditors o Inspection Agencies / Companies o Professional Trade Organizations
o Regulatory Agencies in China
