Responsibilities
• Provide analyzer engineering expertise in support
of the design, construction, commissioning, start-up and operation of
the ExxonMobil Huizhou Chemical Complex.
• The work includes
engineering assessment, engineering design, trouble-shooting and
cause failure analysis and long-term equipment improvement initiatives.
•
Provide asset support for field and online analyzer applications
(chromatographic, spectroscopic, electrochemical, etc.), and physical
property analyzers and sensors for process control, safety and
environmental and regulatory requirements,
• Monitor and drive improvements in analyzer performance,
• Initiate and support changes in machinery technology or work practices to improve plant reliability and profitability, and
•
Support reliability initiatives and programs including resolution of
bad actors, management of equipment strategies, participation in (or
lead) incident investigations and risk assessments, and advising on risk
based work ion.
• Provide analyzer expertise to the
Maintenance and Operations teams and collaborate closely with other
engineering disciplines (instrumentation, applications, control systems,
reliability, etc.) in support of plant operations and improvements.
•
Provide engineering support for modifications to analyzer equipment and
new installations, including reviewing and approving changes,
developing engineering specifications/requirements, conducting or
participating in design reviews, and supporting testing and
commissioning.
• Support development and improvements in site
procedures, practices and standards, including e.g. review of
maintenance procedures/practices and remain abreast of industry
standards developments (e.g., ASTM, ISA, ISO),
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•
Understand the purpose and function of common analyzer infrastructure
elements (e.g., sample systems, sample transport loops, shelters/racks,
communication systems),
• Use statistical tools to assess analyzer performance,
•
Perform analyzer engineering calculations (e.g., fast loop lag time,
probe wake frequency, ventilation requirements, phase envelopes) using
available engineering tools,
• Support cost estimating for analyzers and analyzer systems,
• Understand and support general analyzer maintenance work processes (e.g., planning, scheduling, PMs, performance checks),
• Understand Company controls and cybersecurity relating to analyzer systems,
•
Supporting the development of equipment strategies, understanding the
impact of equipment sparing, redundancy, reliability, availability,
maintainability, and maintenance cost in support of Operations
Excellence and Capital efficiency,
• Participating in activities
related to safety, risk assessment and safety incident investigations
related to analyzer equipment, and
• Support capital projects by
developing project design specifications for analyzer systems, providing
surveillance on contractor and vendor designs and deliverables, advise
and assist analyzer testing, commissioning and start-up.
Requirements
•
Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic
Engineering/ Instrumentation & Control Systems, Chemistry or
equivalent from a recognized university.
• Knowledgeable in measurement principles for a variety of common process analyzers.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience which related to petrochemical industry.
• Knowledgeable in key chemicals processes (or refinery) and associated analyzer applications,
• Familiarity with field and online analyzer equipment from a variety of vendors (e.g. Siemens, Yokogawa, ABB),
•
Knowledgeable in analyzer communication / transmission protocol and
networking consideration for interface to Distributed Control Systems
(DCS), and
• Familiarity with Industry standards, Country-specific regulations (CSR), and local codes.
• Knowledge, skills and experience in any of the following areas is an advantage:
•
Knowledge and ability to support multivariate model based analyzer
applications for unique process measurements, and familiarity with
multiple open platforms (e.g., MATLAB, Pirouette) to build models.
• Understanding of product quality measurement and Quality Assurance System design and requirements.
•
Experience in international projects, multi-national company (MNC),
Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) or JV is an advantage.
• Effective team player.
• Fluent in speaking and writing English.
• Willingness for 1-2 year’s short-term relocation, if required.
