Mission:
• Deliver value, efficiency and expanded market advantage via end-to-end
category management (from strategy development to implementation) to
the Business Unit through development of agreements to achieve total
system cost
• Support implementation of contracting initiatives/ Best Practices with
emphasis on transactional & operational efficiency and value
generation
Abstract / Main Responsibilities:
• This individual will be part of Global Catalyst and Chemicals
Procurement Team which is responsible for Procurement activities in
support of China and Asia Pacific region
• Serve as a business partner to Business Unit key stakeholders by
exploring contracting opportunities, providing sourcing and procurement
services to their critical business requirements.
• Build/ Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers to drive
value and innovation
• Manage portfolio of agreements within the Catalyst and Chemicals
category and ensure consistent application of procurement processes
across agreements.
• Leverage market insight to support Senior Category Manager in
development and implementation of Category strategy and commercial
guidance to maximize value for the business
• Monitor and response to market dynamic/ changes to sustain competitive
advantage for the Business
• Responsible to source for new suppliers within portfolio to drive
competition for cost efficiencies
• Ensure compliance, cost savings measures are established, tracked and
achieved.
• Monitor KPIs on ed agreements or vendors as well as ed operational
processes
• Ensure focus on transactional efficiency
Candidates Requirement:
Skills / Knowledge / Competencies
• 5 to 8 years procurement related experience in the area of
Manufacturing environment (refinery, chemical plant) or relevant
industries
o Preferably with at least 5-years’ prior experience in managing Raw
Material and Processed Chemicals purchases in a mega-scale manufacturing
plant environment
o Strong familiarity with China’s Catalyst & Chemicals marketplace
for Oil & Gas industry.
• Knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay (PtP) process – including use of SAP
Enterprise Resource Planning system and GEP system
• Demonstrate the ability to identify new opportunities, challenge
“status quo” and drive changes
• Identify new suppliers (esp. China local vendors) that are competent
to supply and support the plant locally with the right cost, material
and framework, and work collaboratively with Business Partners and
Engineering to qualify them for both local and overseas
(regional/global) plants & projects.
